Dollymix Studios

Background

Dollymix Studios is a streetwear band inspired by childhood creativity with roots in electronic music. I founded this brand in 2018, when I was 16, after completing my GCSE's. The self taught skills developed over the years of running this brand formed the foundations of my skills today as a creative.

Using a number scale helps establish a clear hierarchy within your design system. It's especially useful when you have various shades or tints of a single color.

1 | design & production

The first collection that I designed was the 'All Over Print Uniform', which can be seen below. The design & production process involved: collating design references, tech packing, liaising with multiple global manufactures, sampling, MOQs, costing, and forecasting.

2 | digital marketing - Front end

I shot various photography and videography look book campaigns over multiple seasons, touching on different themes ranging from childhood nostalgia through to pub & football culture. I used influencer marketing to scale the brand to 10k+ followers on Instagram.

3 | digital marketing - back end

I used Shopify to facilitate the sales, stock management and KPIs. The site was continuously optimised based on traffic statistics, for both mobile and desktop. The brand used 'drops' to release clothing, a popular method in streetwear whereby a collection will be released at a specific date/time. The releases would sometimes sell out entirely in 5 minutes. I grew the store to six figures in revenue in the first three years of operating.
